“President Obama’s Health Care Reform Speech Was Great In Delivery But Weak On Substance. Not Giving Many Details, Just More Commentary.” – Synthia Esther

President Barack Obama gave his much debated Health Care Reform speech on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, holding true to standing by his “Public Options Clause.” Which will allow those in the Government run health care field to make life and death decisions concerning Americans personal care. *Sarah Palin stands by her opinion concerning President Obama’s public options clause calling it, “Death Panels.”
Stating it is only one part of his plan, President Obama rebuked such claims. He further stated that some of the funds needed for his health care reform plan will come from savings within the current health care industry. Many analysts state there is an internal battle within the democratic party about the public option clause, while most Republicans are well known concerning their reasons for not backing the clause.
* Section 12 – 33 of President Obama’s Health Care Bill states every 5 years there “shall” be a review concerning your long term health care. Many feel and I agree, that a living will is none of the Government’s business. While Sarah Palin has called the review board “Death Panels.” Facts remain under Obama Care Plans there “shall” be a review concerning your long term health care, with Government paid officials, doctors, or panels, making life and death decisions.
President Obama had the opportunity to come forward in unity stating, “I have heard the voice of the American people…,” and eliminate the public options clause, yet he did not do so. Instead he responds, “We should remain open concerning other plans.” Associated press posted a new poll with 52% of American people disagreeing with the President’s plans (Fox News – September 9. 2009, Greta Van Susteren Reports on Primetime Push).

Bill O’Reilly complained the President’s speech was too long and pertaining to funding his Health Care proposal plans through savings within our current health care industry O’Reilly affirmed, “Well, I hope he has a magic wand. If it could have been done, it would have been done.” Karl Rove’s opinion on the President’s speech? “It wasn’t a good speech.”
Fox News Sean Hannity stated the President’s very partisan speech included “scare tactics” when claims were made that “more people would die” if his Health Care reform plans did not go forward. There was bitterness, outrage, and anger within the President’s speech as he stated, “I will call you out” if you lie or misrepresent this plan.
WHAT DID THE PRESIDENT OBAMA’S HEALTH CARE SPEECH INCLUDE?
Medicare was addressed, calling it a sacred trust that must be passed down from one generation to the next. And money to fund the new health care plans would not come from the Medicare program. Yet in this same speech the President confirmed money would come from cut backs on Medicare’s over spending negligence, waste, fraud, and abuse. Cutting back on Medicare would cause a lack of quality in care. Vouchers were also spoken about as the President confirmed that “Vouchers for Medicare would not happen on my watch…I will protect Medicare.”
President Obama also addressed Republicans and care mal-practice lawsuits stating he is proposing safety first, so doctors can concentrate on health care. The President affirmed in words that abortion nor illegal aliens would be covered under his reform plans. Yet he gave no details about regulation, policy structure, Government intervention, law or penalty, if such actions were to occur.
Responding to the President’s statement that illegal aliens would not be covered in his Health Care plan Congress Republican Joe Wilson called out, “You Lie!” Later Rep. Wilson gave public statement, apologizing for his behavior. President Obama gave much personal opinion filled with firm and strong inflection during his Health Care speech. However, the facts concerning details on how his new Health Care Reform plans would actually be funded wasn’t addressed, except for Medicare cut backs on negligence and over spending. After speaking for about 45 to 50 minutes President Obama ended his speech declaring, “We Did Not Come Here To Fear The Future – We Came To Shape It!… Here And Now We Will Meet History’s Test.”
LACK OF TRUST IN PRESIDENT OBAMA’S LEADERSHIP
The real test concerning any and every action and speech President Obama delivers to the American people has more to do in my opinion with public trust. He is a great oratory speaker, but not firm in American character, leadership, and integrity, as he talks from two sides of his own mouth. Double talk, coupled with his lack of wisdom and choices in friends such as former Czar -Van Jones, William Wright, and Bill Ayers, concerns many Americans. Why does President Obama hang with men who are radical, anti-American socialist personality types? Actions speak louder than words and many Americans simply don’t trust how President Obama plans to shape America.
